Background
The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is seeking to procure a total bathroom renovation at their Staten Island DDSO facility. The goal of this contract is to ensure the facility meets necessary standards and provides a safe, functional environment for its residents. This project is being re-solicited due to administrative reasons after an initial RFQ was held on February 26, 2024.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor and materials necessary for the complete renovation of the second-floor bathroom according to the attached scope of work and architectural drawings. The scope includes:
- Demolition of the entire bathroom and daily removal of debris.
- Inspection and replacement of wall studs if rotted, using new metal studs only.
- Removal of flooring to inspect floor joists and beams, with necessary corrections made.
- Conducting flow tests for leaks in plumbing lines.
- Visual inspections of opened walls and demo areas before installing new gypsum wall board (GWB).
- Installation of a new solid core wood door and frame that is fire-rated.
- Replacement of walls with mold-resistant gypsum board and cement board where applicable.
- Installation of new plumbing fixtures including a Delta shower body, Gerber faucet, and ADA-compliant toilet.
- Installation of slip-resistant porcelain floor tiles and wall tiles as specified.
- Electrical work including installation of recessed LED lighting and GFCI outlets by a licensed electrician.
All work must comply with NYS applicable codes, rules, and regulations, with prevailing wages paid as this is a public works project.
Period of Performance
The work must be completed within 30 days from the award date.
