2026 Elevator Jack Replacement for O. D. Heck Campus - Building 10 in Schenectady County

Background
The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is responsible for providing care, treatment, rehabilitation, education, training, and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Capital District Developmental Disabilities State Operations Office serves several counties including Albany, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington.

This contract aims to replace the hydraulic in-ground jack elevator system at Building 10 of the O.D. Heck campus in Schenectady County to ensure compliance with ASME A17.1 safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor will replace the existing hydraulic in-ground jack elevator system with a new system that meets ASME A17.1 safety standards.

The work includes providing all necessary labor and materials to complete the project professionally. The contractor must schedule a quality control and assurance inspection with the Plant Superintendent or designee before removing any equipment or scaffolding.

This project is classified as a NYS Public Works project; therefore, prevailing wages must be paid and certified payrolls submitted upon completion.

Period of Performance
The work is to be completed within 160 days of contract approval.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Building 10 located at 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12304.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must attend a mandatory site visit scheduled for April 22, 2026. All bidders and subcontractors must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and submit their Certificate of Contractor Registration at the time of bid submission.
