2025 Waste Pipe Replacement Project for O.D. Heck Campus Building 9 (NYS SB)

Background
The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is soliciting quotes from qualified contractors for the Waste Pipe Replacement Project at the O.D. Heck Campus, Building 9, located at 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12304. This project aims to replace deteriorating waste pipes to ensure the facility's operational integrity and compliance with health standards. The contract is part of a public works initiative and requires adherence to prevailing wage laws.

Work Details
The contractor will excavate, remove, and replace a 60-foot section of decomposing sewer branch line, up to 240 feet of sewer main, and up to 240 feet of storm drain. The work includes:

- Confirming pipe locations via drawings and camera signals;
- Cutting concrete slab and excavating pipe;
- Preparing trench with suitable compaction;
- Installing properly sized pipes per NYS Plumbing Code;
- Reconnecting incoming branch lines from bathrooms and kitchen;
- Performing drainage tests to confirm no leaks;
- Filling trench and repairing concrete slab.

All work must comply with NYS Plumbing Code (2020) and be completed within 40 working days of contract approval.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and submit their Certificate of Contractor Registration at the time of bid submission.
