19 Nolan Park Renovation

Background
The Governors Island Corporation, doing business as The Trust for Governors Island, is seeking to engage a general contractor for the renovation of Building 19 located in Nolan Park.
The Trust is a non-profit organization responsible for the planning and ongoing development of Governors Island, which serves as a public space for New Yorkers and visitors.
The renovation aims to restore the historic building while adapting it for new commercial uses, contributing to the island's mission of enhancing public access and sustainability.

Work Details
The project involves a full restoration of Building 19, which was constructed in 1891 and has not been used residentially since 1996.
The scope includes:
- Full restoration of the interiors
- Rebuilding wrap-around porches
- Replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
- Installation of new fire suppression and fire alarm systems
- Construction of new ADA accessible ramps.
The renovation will change the building's use from residential to two commercial suites, adhering to design specifications provided by Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to begin in Summer 2025 and be completed by Winter/Spring 2028.
