Background
University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) is a county-owned, acute-care hospital located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide food services and clinical nutrition management services that align with UMC's mission to deliver exemplary service to its patients.
Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for comprehensive management and supervision of food services and clinical nutrition management at UMC Main Hospital and the UMC Crisis Stabilization Center. Key responsibilities include:
1. Management of food service operations, including quality control, compliance with regulatory requirements, staff training, operational support, purchasing, and financial outcomes.
2. Management of UMC-employed food services staff, including registered dietitians.
3. Ensuring compliance with UMC policies and maintaining all necessary licenses.
4. Providing meals that meet nutritional standards and dietary restrictions for patients, staff, and visitors.
5. Offering a retail cafeteria service with reasonable pricing agreed upon by both parties.
6. Conducting quarterly performance reviews and maintaining communication with UMC regarding operational efficiency.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to last for an initial term of five years, with options for two one-year extensions based on performance evaluations.
