Thoreau High School Construction - Sub-Contractors Qualifications

Background
The Thoreau High School Construction project is initiated by the Gallup-McKinley County Schools in New Mexico, under the Public School Facilities Authority (PSFA). The mission of this project is to construct a new 83,800 square foot two-story facility while demolishing the existing Thoreau High School on the same site. This initiative aims to enhance educational facilities and provide a modern learning environment for students.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1) Demolition of the existing Thoreau High School;
2) Construction of a new two-story facility;
3) Site work including grading and drainage;
4) Landscaping and parking area development;
5) Construction of a new football field and track.

The project also includes planning, supervision, material procurement, documentation management, labor management, site safety and security, utility inspections, and project close-out procedures.

Period of Performance
The anticipated substantial completion date is yet to be determined but is expected to follow the contract award process which includes proposal evaluations and negotiations.

Place of Performance
The construction will take place at the current site of Thoreau High School located at 4 Hawk Circle, Thoreau, NM 87323.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a current State of New Mexico general contractor license designation of GB-98. Additionally, if the proposal price exceeds $60,000, compliance with minimum wage rate determinations from the NM Workforce Solutions Department is required. A performance bond and payment bond executed by a surety company authorized in New Mexico will be required from the successful bidder.
