Background
The City of Santa Fe, New Mexico is seeking to procure two replacement digested sludge recirculation pumps, specifically the Boerger CL390 Rotary Lobe Pumps. The procurement is justified as a sole source due to the proprietary nature of the product, which is only available from Falcon Environmental Corp./Boerger LLC.

The pumps are essential for moving digested sludge from digestors to belt filter presses for dewatering, a critical function for waste management.

Work Details
The contract involves the supply and installation of 2 Boerger CL390 Rotary Lobe Pumps with a right-angle drive and 10HP motor. The existing flanges will be reused to facilitate the installation without requiring changes to the piping.

The pumps are designed with Optimum Dual-rotors that enhance wear resistance against grit and abrasive sludge, allowing for higher fluid displacement and reduced operational speed (from 318 RPM to 272 RPM), which contributes to longer pump life. The right-angle gear system replaces the current belt and sheave setup, providing a more robust solution that minimizes maintenance needs. Falcon Environmental will handle the removal of existing pumps and installation of new units.
