Background
The New Mexico Spaceport Authority is seeking engineering design and implementation services for the construction of fiber optic cable facilities within the Spaceport America complex. The goal of this contract is to build a high-capacity broadband fiber optic service that supports Spaceport America's operational expansion plans by December 31, 2026.
Work Details
SWC Telesolutions, Inc. will provide engineering design and implementation services that include:
1. Construction of approximately 4.25 miles of aerial fiber, 0.25 miles of new buried fiber, and placement of approximately 2.25 miles of new fiber cable in existing conduit within the Spaceport complex.
2. Preparation of detailed FTTP designs.
3. Coordination for obtaining construction permits.
4. Contract management and construction management/inspection services.
5. Basic permitting services to obtain necessary Rights of Way through public utility easement procedures.
6. Utilization of a single industry standard OSP contract for construction.
7. On-site inspection by third-party engineering consultants to ensure compliance with design specifications, including documentation for restoration and damage reporting.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed until December 31, 2026.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the Spaceport America complex, located in New Mexico.
