CANCER REGISTRY SOFTWARE
Background
The University of New Mexico (UNM) Cancer Center is seeking a commercial Cancer Registry Software solution due to the discontinuation of their previous proprietary software provided by the New Mexico Tumor Registry as of September 2017.

The software is essential for compliance with data collection requirements mandated by various accrediting bodies, including the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer and the New Mexico Tumor Registry, which is part of the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance Epidemiology and End-Results Reporting program.

It must meet specific data elements and definitions required by these agencies to maintain accreditation and fulfill state law requirements.

Work Details
The contract involves the provision of CNExT software from C/NET Solutions, which includes:
- Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) for real-time queries.
- Context-specific reference sources for coding manuals integrated into the abstracting screen.
- Built-in Multiple Primary/Histology (MP/H) tool for accurate coding decisions.
- AJCC Staging forms with point-and-click TNM code insertion.
- A customizable Cancer Alert System (CAS) that interfaces with pathology systems using HL7 messaging.
- Security tools for controlling access to software features based on user roles.
- Training videos on demand for new tumor registrars.

The total cost over three years is $65,398.32, broken down into Year 1: $20,344.81, Year 2: $21,870.63, and Year 3: $23,182.88.
