The Ocean County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualifications for Special Conflict/Litigation Counsel Services. Work Details
The selected vendor(s) will provide Special Conflict/Litigation Counsel Services on an as-needed basis. Key requirements include:
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience representing governmental entities in various legal matters, including but not limited to:
- State and federal Civil Rights actions
- New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD) claims
- Federal 1983 actions
- CEPA claims
- ADA and FMLA/FLA claims
- Claims under the New Jersey Tort Claims Act (N.J.S.A. 59:1-1, et seq.)
- Extensive experience in mediation, arbitration, trials, appellate work, and administrative law matters.
- Experience in defending workers' compensation matters, including trials and appeals.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed on an as-needed basis with no specific end date provided; services will be rendered when required by the County.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Ocean County, New Jersey.
Bidder Requirements
Vendors must provide:
1. Names and experience of individuals assigned to tasks, including relevant experience with Ocean County or New Jersey.
2. A statement confirming the ability to perform tasks timely.
3. Description of support staff available.
4. Professional licenses and certifications held by assigned individuals.
5. Certificate of Insurance showing professional liability coverage effective as of January 1, 2026.
6. Current Certificate of Good Standing from the NJ Supreme Court for each attorney referenced in the proposal.
7. Four professional references with contact information; three must have direct knowledge of relevant experience.
8. Completed Vendor Questionnaire documents submitted electronically via DocuSign.
