Janitorial/Cleaning Services For All County And Park Commission Facilities

Background
The County of Somerset, New Jersey, is seeking proposals for janitorial services through a competitive contracting process. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across various county facilities and installations, including those operated by the Somerset County Park Commission. This initiative aims to ensure that all facilities are kept in a neat, clean, healthful, and presentable condition.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive janitorial services at specified Somerset County government facilities and Park Commission locations. Services include but are not limited to:
- Daily emptying of waste receptacles
- Dusting furniture and surfaces
- Vacuuming carpeted areas
- Mopping hard floors with detergent solutions
- Spot cleaning glass and carpets
- Maintaining cleanliness in offices, public areas, conference rooms, courtrooms, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, elevators, and stairwells.

The contractor must supply all necessary personnel, supervision, cleaning agents, supplies, and equipment. Performance will be monitored by designated county representatives to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on January 1, 2026, and will continue for three years until January 1, 2029. There is an option for the county to extend the contract for two additional one-year periods based on economic factors.

Place of Performance
Janitorial services will be performed at various Somerset County government facilities and installations as well as Somerset County Park Commission Facilities located within Somerset County, New Jersey.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with New Jersey's Local Public Contracts Law and provide proof of business registration. They are required to submit a certified check or bid bond equal to 10% of the total bid amount (not exceeding $20,000) along with a Certificate of Consent from a Surety Company. Additionally, bidders must adhere to affirmative action provisions under N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., and provide proof of insurance coverage including general liability and workers' compensation insurance as specified in the RFP.
