Altitude Valve Maintenance

Background
The City of Trenton, through its Department of Water and Sewer, is seeking bids for the maintenance of altitude valves at various locations within the Trenton Water Works system. This contract aims to ensure the proper functioning of these critical components in the water filtration process, thereby supporting the city's mission to provide safe and reliable water services to its residents.

Work Details
The contractor will supply all labor, materials, and parts necessary to inspect, overhaul, and perform yearly maintenance on six altitude valves and three low lift gate valves. Specific tasks include dismantling valves, replacing parts such as piston cups, liner cups, piston seat washers, pilot control valves, diaphragm 'o' rings, gaskets, and lubricating with food-grade waterproof lubricants.

The contractor must also provide typewritten reports detailing parts replaced and the overall condition of each valve. The work will be performed at multiple locations including the Trenton Water Filtration Plant and various tanks across Ewing Township and Hamilton Township. A site visit is mandatory for bidders to familiarize themselves with the work required.

Period of Performance
The contract period is set for one year from the award date with an option to extend for one additional year.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at several locations including:
1) Trenton Water Filtration Plant (2 valves)
2) Ewing Tank
3) Hopewell Hydropillar (2 valves)
4) Jones Farm Standpipe
5) Lawrence Tank
6) Mercerville Tank
7) Whitehorse Tank.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least 10 years of experience in repairing and overhauling altitude valves. They are required to submit a list of at least five water treatment facilities where similar work has been performed in the past five years. Additionally, bidders must comply with affirmative action regulations and provide a valid Business Registration Certificate prior to contract award.
