Background
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, Division for Behavioral Health, is seeking qualified Vendors to provide structured, interactive, skill-building, and educational Prevention Direct Services aimed at educating and supporting youth and young adults aged 12 through 21. The goal is to prevent substance misuse, including alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and vaping products.
The Department aims to create a statewide prevention system that integrates with mental and physical health services to address the needs of individuals experiencing substance use disorders.
Work Details
Vendors are expected to deliver industry-standard Prevention Direct Services that include:
- Engaging youth in face-to-face or remote group programming.
- Implementing evidence-informed strategies that delay the onset of substance use.
- Providing education and tools for families to recognize early signs of misuse.
- Targeting youth identified as at-risk based on biological, psychological, social, or environmental factors.
- Focusing on both selective (at-risk) and indicated (already misusing) populations.
- Utilizing CSAP Strategies such as Information Dissemination, Prevention Education, Alternative Activities, Community-Based Processes, Environmental Approaches, and Problem Identification and Referral.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 with options for renewal for up to two additional years.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed within the State of New Hampshire.
Bidder Requirements
Vendors must be physically located in New Hampshire and have demonstrated experience providing substance misuse prevention services directly to the target population. They must also comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
