Pine Street Pedestrian Crossing Project

Background
The City of Nashua, Division of Public Works, is seeking bids for the construction of a mid-block pedestrian crossing on Pine Street between Clocktower Place and Pine Street Extension in Nashua, New Hampshire.
This project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility in the area.

Work Details
The contract includes the following construction tasks:
1. Installation of a mid-block pedestrian crossing with appropriate signage and markings.
2. Application of asphalt emulsion for tack coat to roadway surface at a rate of 0.06 gallons per square yard prior to paving.
3. Installation of straight granite curb (8'-0" long with a 7" reveal).
4. Construction of 6" reinforced concrete sidewalk.
5. Placement of crushed gravel as necessary for base support.
6. Cold planing of bituminous surfaces (1-1/2") as required for proper surface preparation.
7. Application of hot bituminous pavement surface mix (1" wearing course).
8. Installation of detectable warning devices at pedestrian ramps and crosswalks, ensuring compliance with ADA standards.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be performed over a period defined in the solicitation documents, typically spanning several months from the notice to proceed.
