Nashua School District Wood Floor Refinishing

Background
The Nashua School District (NSD) is seeking quotes for the refinishing of wooden gymnasium, stage, and cafeteria flooring.

The Plant Operations Department aims to maintain and enhance the quality of these facilities as part of their mission to provide a safe and conducive learning environment. This contract will span three years, emphasizing the importance of regular maintenance and care for school facilities.

Work Details
The scope of work includes all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to wet screen and finish selected floors. Specific tasks include:

1. Wet mopping the floor with a suitable cleaning solution.
2. Scrubbing the floor using a single brush floor machine with a 120 grit disc under a white or steel wool pad to remove scratches, heel marks, rubber burns, and gum.
3. Picking up the cleaning solution with a wet vacuum or auto-scrubber before it dries.
4. Damp mopping the floor twice with clean water.
5. Tack flooring with solvent until dust-free, allowing it to dry overnight and again in the morning.
6. Applying two coats of 'Bona Kemi SportPoly 350' oil-based urethane gloss (or equal), following manufacturer instructions, including steel wool between coats and solvent tacking.
7. Supplementing ventilation with floor fans as needed during finishing.
8. Ensuring that finished floors are smooth, even, and free from defects such as streaks or bubbles.

Additionally, contractors must provide costs for replacing floorboards per square foot (labor and material included). Estimates for square footage for various school locations are provided in the quote sheets.

Period of Performance
The contract will be executed over three years, with all work completed by August 22, 2025, following the last day of school on June 11, 2025.

Place of Performance
The refinishing work will take place at various locations within the Nashua School District in Nashua, New Hampshire.
