Nashua School District Facilities Master Plan

Background
The Nashua School District (NSD) in Nashua, New Hampshire, serves approximately 10,000 students across grades K-12. The district encompasses 12 elementary schools, three middle schools, two senior high schools, a special needs alternative school, a school administration building, a plant operations complex, and Stellos Stadium.

All facilities total 2,125,496 square feet on about 382 acres and are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The NSD aims to develop a Facilities Master Plan to guide future maintenance and renovation projects. This plan will ensure the preservation and potential redevelopment of existing facilities while planning for new ones over the next thirty years.

Work Details
The selected consulting firm will provide comprehensive facility planning services including:
1. Conditional assessment of all school building systems.
2. Space and programming needs assessment through stakeholder interviews with school district administration, principals, staff, and city leaders.
3. Development of educational specifications for various school levels (high school, middle school, elementary).
4. Recommendations for modifications to meet program requirements and ensure equity across all schools.
5. Estimation of the value of all school buildings based on the cost to construct similar new facilities.
6. Inclusion of all consultant costs related to civil, structural, mechanical & electrical engineering expenses.
7. Monthly meetings with city officials and one evening presentation to the Board of Education upon project completion.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon selection and will continue until the completion of the Facilities Master Plan development process. Proposals must be submitted by February 27, 2025.

Place of Performance
The consulting services will be performed primarily at various locations within the Nashua School District in Nashua, New Hampshire.
