Asphalt Sidewalk Replacements

Background
Belknap County is seeking bids from qualified vendors for asphalt sidewalk replacements as part of their ongoing maintenance and improvement efforts. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and accessible pathways for the public by repairing and replacing existing asphalt surfaces.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Preparation: Remove all existing asphalt and concrete, fine grade the area, incorporate crushed bank run gravel as needed, and compact all areas to receive new asphalt.

2. Asphalt Cut & Patch: Add new virgin asphalt to the repair areas. This includes saw cutting, excavating, and removing existing failed pavement and concrete, followed by replacing it with top course asphalt. The contractor must power roll for maximum compaction, ensuring that the asphalt thickness is no less than a 2-inch compacted finish to achieve optimum transitions and proper drainage.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be performed following the bid submission deadline of April 23, 2025, with specific timelines to be determined upon award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within Belknap County, specifically including:

- Belknap County Superior Court at 64 Court Street, Laconia, NH
- Belknap Sheriff’s Office Employee Entrance at 42 County Drive, Laconia, NH
- Belknap County Administration Entrance Office at 34 County Drive, Laconia, NH.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be qualified vendors capable of providing the specified asphalt repairs and seal coating services. A site visitation is required prior to bidding and must be scheduled by calling 603-737-2391.
