Description

Douglas County is requesting bids from qualified companies, herein called Bidder, Contractor, Vendor, Supplier, or other pronouns used in their place, for all work and/or goods set forth in the specifications. Requirement for Bid Bond: The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to Douglas County, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). LETTERS OF CREDIT ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. The bid bond amount is listed in the Attributes section. A copy of the bid bond/acceptable substitute shall be uploaded in the Response Attachments section. The original document must be received by the City Clerk, 1819 Farnam Street LC-1, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, NE 68183 within seven (7) calendar days of the closing date and time indicated. QUESTIONS: Bidders must submit bid questions in the Questions tab of the bid event. Questions will be answered by September 15, 2025.
Background
Douglas County, Nebraska is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of two bridges: C-28(564) at 192nd North of Bennington and C-28(598) at F Street and 252nd. The project aims to enhance infrastructure and ensure safe transportation routes within the county. 6. Installation of 18" Driveway Culvert Pipe, Type 3, 4, or 5 (57 LF)

8. Crushed Rock Surface Course (332 TON)
9. Excavation for Pipe, Pipe-Arch Culverts, and Headwalls (9 CY)
10. Excavation for Box Culverts (403 CY)
11. Class 47B-4000 Concrete for Box Culvert (152.5 CY)
12. Reinforcing Steel for Box Culvert (17645 LB)
13. Installation of 18" Metal Flared-End Section (4 EA)
14. Removal of Structure at Station 103+80 (1 EA)
15. Installation of 6" Concrete Pavement - Class 47B-3500 (4 SY)
16. Geogrid Biaxial Installation (250 SY)
17. Rental of Loader, Dump Truck, and Skid Loader Fully Operated (20 HR each).

The project also includes erosion control measures, traffic control setup, and other related construction activities as specified in the bid documents.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and will be completed within a specified timeframe as detailed in the bid documents, with a response deadline set for September 17, 2025.
