The Department of Physics and Astrophysics at the University of North Dakota is seeking bids for a complete turn-key self-referenced frequency comb laser system. This system is essential for advancing research in physics and astrophysics, aligning with the university's mission to enhance scientific knowledge and innovation.

Work Details
The contract requires the provision of a complete turn-key self-referenced frequency comb laser system, which includes amplifiers and a stabilized laser source as a frequency reference. The system must meet the following specifications:

- Optical Parameters:
- 100 MHz repetition rate
- 1560 +/- 10 nm central wavelength
- <100 fs pulse duration after output fiber
- 100 mW average power from amplifier
- Carrier envelope offset frequency (f_CEO) tuning range ≥ 100 MHz
- Phase noise of f_CEO ≤1 radian (10 Hz to 1 MHz)
- Average output power from oscillator: ≥4mW

- Electronic in- and outputs:
- RF carrier envelope offset frequency
- RF repetition rate output, 0dBm power
- Front-panel GUI and USB connection with API for remote control

- Reference Laser Specifications:
- Frequency-stabilized against ro-vibrational transition of acetylene with specific stability requirements.

- Mechanical Requirements:
- Must fit within a 19” rack enclosure, occupy ≤8U, be air or conduction cooled, have <30 min warm-up time, and consume <40 W electrical power.

The bid must also include on-site installation and training in Grand Forks, ND.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to conclude by August 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the University of North Dakota located at 101 Cornell St, Witmer Hall Rm 213, Grand Forks, ND 58203.
