Background
The City of Raleigh, North Carolina, through its Raleigh Water division, is issuing a solicitation for the Wake Forest Water Main Replacement & Repair Project.
The project aims to enhance the water and wastewater infrastructure within the city, aligning with the agency's mission to provide reliable water services and maintain public health standards.

Work Details
The project consists of several major components:
- Water Infrastructure:
- Installing 9,900 LF of 4”, 6”, 8”, and 12” water main and appurtenances.
- Installing 300 water service changeovers, with 85 being via trenchless means.
- Installing 300 water meter and box replacements.
- Abandoning 19,050 LF of existing 1.5”, 2”, 6”, and 8” water main.
- Removal and disposal of 1,575 LF of 1.5” and 6” water main.
- Wastewater Infrastructure:
- Installing 3,750 LF of 8” gravity sewer main and 18 manholes.
- Installing 105 sewer lateral service replacements, with 3 being via trenchless means.
- Installing adjustments and re-routing for sewer laterals totaling various lengths (195 LF adjustment, 533 LF re-routing).
- Installing CIPP lining for sanitary sewer lateral service over a length of 2,250 LF.
- Removal and disposal of existing gravity sewer totaling approximately 3,275 LF including manholes.
- Storm Drainage Infrastructure:
- Installing a total of 725 LF of storm pipe in sizes ranging from 12” to 24” along with storm structures.
- Removal and disposal of existing storm pipe and structures equivalent to the installed lengths.
- Miscellaneous Work:
- Installation of erosion & sedimentation control measures.
- Asphalt roadway milling and overlay covering approximately 43,340 SY.
- Full depth asphalt pavement repair over an area of about 9,995 SY.
- Removal and replacement of asphalt pavement covering approximately 11,890 SY.
- Replacement of granite curb to meet Wake Forest Historic District standards over a length of about 190 LF.
- Installation or replacement of concrete curb ramps to comply with ADA standards (76 ramps).

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to commence following the bid award on January 15, 2025, with specific timelines detailed in the Bid Form for completion.
