Uniformed Armed Security Guard Services for 2020 Yonkers Road Facility, Raleigh, NC

Background
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide uniformed armed guard services at its facility located at 2020 Yonkers Road, Raleigh, NC. The DAC's mission includes overseeing various divisions such as Community Corrections and the Parole and Post Release Commission. The facility spans approximately 135,000 square feet and accommodates around 600 employees. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and security of the building and its occupants during regular operating hours.

Work Details
The vendor will provide uniformed armed security officer services for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, excluding State Holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the interior of the building with a focus on the front door/reception area.
- Video monitoring of parking lot areas, loading dock, and exterior door entrances.
- Reporting any suspicious behavior or activity around the perimeter of the building.
- Conducting roving patrols and verifying identification of personnel entering the facility.
- Responding to alarm system alerts and inspecting vehicles.
- Ensuring that all security officers are competent and present during duty hours.
- Providing necessary equipment for security tasks not otherwise furnished by DAC.
- Completing background checks on all security personnel prior to their assignment.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term is one year starting from January 1, 2026, with options for two additional one-year renewals at the State's discretion.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must be licensed and certified by the Private Protective Services Board of North Carolina to provide armed security guards. Additionally, vendors must demonstrate experience with similar projects through references and provide evidence of financial stability. Vendors are required to complete background checks on all personnel assigned to this contract.
