Tennis Court Lighting Upgrade at River Birch Tennis Center

Background
The City of Greenville, North Carolina, through its Project Management Department, is seeking bids for the Tennis Court Lighting Upgrade at the River Birch Tennis Center. The project aims to enhance the lighting on eight tennis courts to improve safety and visibility for players. The City is committed to ensuring compliance with safety regulations and providing equal opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses in its contracting processes.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove existing light fixtures and replace them with new high-efficiency LED fixtures on eight all-weather tennis courts. The scope includes:
- Installation of 28 new LED fixtures on 14 existing poles for the front six courts.
- Installation of 8 new LED fixtures on 4 existing poles for the rear two courts.
- Installation of two new security lights and poles, along with replacement of two existing security light fixtures.
- Alternate #1: Replacement of the existing wood backboard housing electrical panels with a new metal framing structure.
- Alternate #2: Installation of a player-activated lighting system.

All work must comply with OSHA safety guidelines and industry standards.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence in mid to late Fall 2025 or early Spring 2026, with adjustments allowed for weather-related delays.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with the City of Greenville's Minority and Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Program goals of 10% MBE and 6% WBE participation. All contractors must register as vendors with the City prior to providing goods or services. Insurance requirements include Workers’ Compensation Insurance, Commercial General Liability, Commercial Automobile Liability, Professional Liability, Builders Risk Coverage, among others.
