South Campus & CBTC Asphalt Demolition, Repaving, and Storm Sewer Improvements

Background
The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is issuing this solicitation for the South Campus and CBTC Asphalt Project. This project aims to enhance the infrastructure of their campuses located in Concord, NC. It focuses on improving vehicular and parking areas through demolition, repaving, and storm sewer improvements to ensure safety and compliance with local standards.

Work Details
The work includes:
- Demolition of existing asphalt and deteriorated base where required.
- Repaving with standard-duty and heavy-duty asphalt in designated areas:
- Area A: ~50,254 SF (standard-duty asphalt)
- Area B: ~46,603 SF (standard-duty asphalt)
- Area C: ~35,114 SF (heavy-duty asphalt)
- Installation of a grate inlet on the existing storm sewer line.
- Fine grading to maintain positive drainage away from buildings toward existing inlets.
- Adjustment and protection of existing utilities.
- Pavement striping for parking spaces, drive aisles, fire lanes, and accessible spaces according to campus standards.
- Restoration of disturbed areas post-construction. All work must comply with the College’s Facility Design Manual (FDM), applicable NC DOT standards, and local code requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from the date of award until completion. The bid submission deadline is set for May 6, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at two locations: South Campus at 1531 Trinity Church Rd., Concord, NC, and CBTC Campus at 660 Concord Parkway N., Concord, NC.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed contractors in North Carolina with owner-approved subcontractors as required. HUB certified contractors are encouraged to participate. All firms must register with the North Carolina Electronic Vendor Portal prior to submitting a proposal. A bid bond of 5% of the total bid is required.
