Smithfield Middle School Main Electrical Switchboard Building Upgrades Labor, Material, and Equipment Provision

Background
Johnston County Public Schools is seeking sealed bids from licensed contractors for the provision of labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the upgrades to the main electrical switchboard at Smithfield Middle School.

The goal of this contract is to enhance the electrical infrastructure in alignment with project specifications and drawings.

Work Details
The scope of work includes general and electrical contractor services focused on the replacement or refurbishment of the main electrical switchboard.

This will involve connecting to utility services and performing additional tasks as outlined in the project drawings and specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to commence following the bid opening on August 26, 2025, with specific timelines to be determined based on project requirements.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Smithfield Middle School located at 1455 Buffalo Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with County of Johnston MBE policies and North Carolina Statute 143-128.2 (c).

Additionally, bidders are required to submit a bid security of 5% of the total bid amount in cash, certified check, or Bid Bond. Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract amount will also be required.

Bidders must certify that they are not listed on the Final Divestment List as per the Iran Divestment Act.
