Background
The City of Durham, North Carolina Department of Water Management is soliciting contractor proposals for generator maintenance, monthly testing, and emergency repair services for approximately 83 generators. The goal of this contract is to ensure the operational status of these generators, which are critical for maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities in Durham. The contract will be for a term of three years with an option to renew for two additional one-year terms.

Work Details
The contractor will provide routine preventative maintenance and emergency repair services for 81 generators and one diesel engine across various facilities including two water treatment plants, two water reclamation facilities, 63 lift stations, and administrative buildings. Services include:
- Monthly visual checks of site areas (interior and exterior)
- D.C. Electrical System checks including battery inspections and replacements
- A.C. Electrical System testing
- Control panel inspections
- Engine oil level checks and coolant inspections
- Generator load tests and cleaning
- Emergency services on an as-needed basis with a guaranteed 2-hour response time. The contractor must validate their ability to maintain generators ranging from 10kW to 2500kW.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and will last for three years, with options to renew for two additional one-year terms.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations in Durham, North Carolina including water treatment plants, water reclamation facilities, lift stations, and administrative buildings.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must demonstrate experience in generator maintenance for at least five contracts involving over 20 generators. They must provide evidence of qualifications such as EGSA certification for key personnel, access to necessary equipment, and compliance with insurance requirements including Commercial General Liability and Workers’ Compensation.
