Roof Replacement at Chapel Hill Public Works Campus

Background
The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking a qualified construction contractor to replace the roof at the Chapel Hill Public Works Campus. This project is governed by Section 143-129 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, which outlines the requirements for sealed proposals.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the roof replacement at the Public Works Campus. The project includes cleaning, preparing, priming, and installing coatings on various facilities including Sand and Salt Storage, Garage Storage, Fleet Maintenance Roof Areas A and B, Fuel Facility, Wash Facility, and Surplus Storage.

Specific alternates include:
1. Alternate 01: Coating on Sand and Salt Storage.
2. Alternate 02: Coating on Garage Storage.
3. Alternate 03: Coating on Fleet Maintenance Roof Areas A and B.
4. Alternate 04: Coating on Fuel Facility.
5. Alternate 05: Coating on Wash Facility.
6. Alternate 06: Coating on Surplus Storage.
7. Alternates for removing specific facilities from the base bid are also included.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence immediately upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within 120 days from that date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Chapel Hill Public Works Campus located at 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have proper licenses under North Carolina laws governing their respective trades. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required for all potential bidders to attend in order for their bids to be considered valid. Additionally, there is a goal of 10% minority business participation in subcontracting efforts.
