RFQ: Etowah Sewer Wastewater Treatment Plant

Background
Henderson County is seeking engineering services from qualified firms for the relocation or replacement of the Etowah Sewer Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The existing plant, located at 131 Etowah Center Drive, is outdated and operates beyond its permitted capacity, which is critical for the county's wastewater management and environmental compliance.

Work Details
The awarded firm will perform the following tasks:
1. Planning: Coordinate preliminary planning and develop funding opportunities for project development.
2. Design: Provide intermediate plans for review and complete construction plans and specifications for bidding.
3. Permitting: Identify required permits and manage the preparation, submission, and response process based on approved designs.
4. Bidding: Manage the bid process in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes and local policies.
5. Construction Administration: Assist with administration during construction; special inspections and materials testing will be conducted by a third party contracted by Henderson County.

Period of Performance
The contract period will begin upon award and will continue through the completion of all outlined tasks, with specific timelines to be determined based on project scope.

The work will be performed primarily at the Etowah Sewer Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 131 Etowah Center Drive, Hendersonville, North Carolina.
