Background
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) is a North Carolina municipal utility that provides electric, water, and wastewater services. PWC is conducting market research to determine industry capability and interest in providing warehouse automation solutions to support its warehouses, which are critical for utility maintenance and construction operations. The goal of this RFI is to gather information on potential automation technologies that can enhance warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy while minimizing disruptions to crew operations.

Work Details
PWC seeks information on the following areas of interest regarding warehouse automation technologies:

1. Inventory Tracking & Cycle Counting:
- RFID solutions for critical spares, fleet parts, and high-value inventory.
- Barcode-based systems and handheld mobile scanning devices.

2. Material Replenishment Automation:
- Weight-sensing bins or smart shelving for minor materials (e.g., clamps, bolts, tape).

3. Crew-Facing Technology:
- Digital signage or dashboards at warehouse counters for inventory visibility that do not require scanning by construction crews but improve transparency.

4. System Integration:
- Compatibility with Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Fusion ERP (planned go-live October 2025) and ability to interface with Sisense for reporting.

5. Other Automation Tools:
- Security enhancements such as camera-integrated inventory monitoring.

This RFI is issued for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for proposal; therefore, specific performance periods are not defined within this document.

Place of Performance
The services are expected to be performed within the PWC service area, which includes Fayetteville/Cumberland County.

Bidder Requirements
Interested vendors must provide company information including name, address, contact details, NAICS code, and classification as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Historically Underutilized Business (HUB), or Small Local Supplier (SLS). Vendors should also submit a capability statement detailing their experience in the utility sector or with public entities.
