RE-BID: South Ellerbe Restoration Phase 3 Stream Restoration and Facility Construction

Background
The South Ellerbe Restoration Phase 3 project is initiated by the City of Durham's Department of Public Works, specifically the Stormwater Services Division. The mission of this project is to restore the stream and wetland areas, improve stormwater management, and enhance the surrounding facilities. The goal is to construct a comprehensive restoration plan that includes various environmental and infrastructural improvements.

Work Details
The contract encompasses the construction of stream and wetland restoration, utility relocations, retaining walls, greenway trails, maintenance paths, pedestrian plazas, hardscaped areas, and modifications to stormwater outfalls. Specific tasks include:
- Construction of a stream restoration project at 808 W Trinity Ave.
- Modifications to existing stormwater outfalls.
- Construction of earthen embankments and water control structures.
- Relocation of sewer and water lines as indicated in the construction drawings.
- Hauling and stockpiling excess onsite soils to the Durham County Closed Landfill.

Additionally, there are additive alternatives including a wetlands boardwalk and educational signage.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be substantially completed within 900 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Final completion is required within 960 days from the same notice.

Place of Performance
The primary site for this project is located at 808 W Trinity Ave, Durham, North Carolina 27701. Additional work may occur at the City of Durham Closed Landfill located at 2115 E Club Blvd, Durham, North Carolina 27704.
