Professional Development Support

Background
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 14th largest in the United States, serving approximately 161,000 students across 203 schools. The district aims to enhance its Special Education Services (SES) through a contract for professional development support, which includes developing training materials and a sustainability plan for SES leaders and staff. The goal is to enable successful implementation of a regional support model starting June 2026.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive professional development services including:
- Training and materials for SES leaders/staff to implement the regional support model.
- A professional development plan for teachers and SES staff, transitioning this plan to a new Senior Administrator by Spring 2026.
- Project management including establishing timelines, milestones, and regular feedback sessions.
- Development of training materials such as facilitation guides, slide decks, and curriculum activities.
- Capacity building for WCPSS facilitators for ongoing training.
- An aligned digital course for sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Training for three groups: SES staff, Instructional Assistants (IAs), and Special Education Teachers with specific courses like CoachEDTM Training and Registered Behavior Technician Training.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence with project planning in early 2026 and continue through the implementation phase starting June 2026.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Wake County, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must be licensed to do business in North Carolina and have experience working with public school systems of comparable size. They must provide references demonstrating this experience. Vendors listed on either the State of North Carolina or Federal Government debarred vendor registries will be disqualified from consideration.
