Prequalification of Contractors for Equine Hospital Construction at College of Veterinary Medicine, NC State University

Background
The North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is undertaking a project to construct a new Equine Hospital. This initiative aims to enhance the veterinary services provided by the college, focusing on both in-patient and out-patient equine care. The project will involve significant renovations to the existing main building and the addition of new facilities that will support various equine medical services.

Work Details
The project includes the following key components: renovations to the existing CVM main building, construction of a new Equine Hospital addition, and the establishment of facilities for in-patient and out-patient equine services.

Specific services and structures to be included are: emergency services, orthopedics, surgery, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an isolation building, an arena, new research space, and an expansion of the Central Utility Plant to support the hospital.

The construction work will encompass various trades including but not limited to: deconstruction, concrete work, masonry, structural steel installation, architectural woodwork, mass timber construction, roofing, metal panels installation, caulking & sealants application, expansion control measures, door frames & hardware installation, drywall work, acoustic ceilings installation, flooring (including equine-specific flooring), painting & coatings application, signage installation, equestrian equipment setup, pneumatic tube systems installation, fire suppression systems setup, plumbing work, HVAC systems installation including test & balance procedures and cooling towers setup, building automation systems implementation, electrical work including gear installation and data & communication systems.
