Open-Ended Contract for Electrical Engineering Design Services

Background
The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking open-ended electrical engineering design services for small, miscellaneous projects under $300,000. The annual fees may not exceed $150,000 in total value, and no single project shall exceed a $36,000 fee. The base contract will be for a period of one year, with one possible one-year extension.

Work Details
The scope of work includes providing electrical engineering design services on a routine or as-needed basis for small projects. The contract requires expertise and previous experience in educational/institutional renovation and remodel projects, understanding and implementation of renovation and remodel of existing buildings, sustainable and innovative design, developing 'As-Builts' of existing buildings, phasing of projects in occupied buildings, and contractor pre-qualification.
Additionally, the contractor must demonstrate mastery of critical concepts in the design of public educational facilities such as energy efficiency, lighting, networking systems, integrated design, the North Carolina State Construction Manual and related forms, NCCCS Capital Improvement Program Guide, and the North Carolina HUB Office Requirements. Technical expertise including BIM, Microsoft Project GANTT chart scheduling, life-cycle costing, conceptual estimating is also required.
Furthermore, the contractor should have a demonstrated understanding of the College’s Facilities Design Manual. The proposal should include all submittal requirements specified in the solicitation.

Period of Performance
The base contract will be for a period of one year with one possible one-year extension.

Place of Performance
The services are to be performed at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College located in Rowan County and Cabarrus County in North Carolina.
