Background
Union County, North Carolina, through its Facilities Management Department, is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified firms to provide Structural Engineering Services for various projects on an 'as needed' basis. This solicitation is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) aimed at identifying firms capable of delivering engineering services for capital projects outlined in the 2026 Union County Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Work Details
The selected Structural Engineering Firm will provide traditional Structural Engineering Services, which include but are not limited to: general engineering and consulting services, design review and consultation, facility condition assessments, structural modeling system recommendations, cost estimations and projections, phasing recommendations, and repair and maintenance planning. Services will be provided on an as-needed basis through written task orders issued by Union County. Each task order will specify the scope of work required and will be negotiated based on specific project needs.
Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of two (2) years with one (1) optional renewal year, contingent upon annual budget appropriations.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed in Union County, North Carolina.
Bidder Requirements
Firms must comply with N.C.G.S. ยง143-64.31 regarding professional licensing in North Carolina. Each firm must identify a licensed professional engineer responsible for the work performed under the contract. Additionally, firms are encouraged to engage in outreach efforts to Minority Businesses (HUB Certified) and Small Businesses.
