Background
The NC Zoological Park, under the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources, is undertaking a project to renovate the 30-year-old Desert Pavilion building.
The goal of this contract is to address necessary repairs and upgrades to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of the Pavilion.

Work Details
The project requires comprehensive architectural and engineering services, including:
- Renovation of the Desert Pavilion building.
- Architectural services for design and planning.
- Structural services to assess and reinforce the building's framework.
- Building envelope services to ensure weatherproofing and insulation.
- Geotechnical services for soil analysis and foundation support.
Specific repairs include:
- Restoration of geodesic dome wet glazed silicone joints.
- Repair of masonry foundation and site retaining walls.
- Rust mitigation on structural steel members.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a specified period following the award, with a total project budget of $1,578,000 allocated for repairs and renovations, including $200,000 specifically available for design services.

The work will be conducted at the NC Zoo located at 4001 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205.
