Work Details
The awarded firms will provide the following services under the MSA:
1) Field surveys and property/right-of-way surveys including necessary research at the Register of Deeds Office and City Planning Department.
2) Geotechnical engineering consultation and construction material testing by NC Department of Transportation certified staff. This includes compression testing on concrete, density testing on soil, stone, and asphalt materials. Testing types include Standard Proctor tests, subgrade compaction tests, Shelby tube tests, ABC gradation tests, and asphalt extraction with gradation.
3) Geotechnical investigations for pavement design recommendations based on native soil quality.
4) Subsurface utility engineering (SUE) work with approvals for street cuts as per municipal regulations.
5) Review and approval of shop drawing submittals from contractors.
6) Construction administration services as needed throughout project execution.
7) Construction engineering and inspection services including inspection, materials sampling/testing, documentation of pay quantities, erosion control compliance, safety compliance, and claims avoidance.
Period of Performance
The contract will be valid for three years from the date of execution but may extend based on specific Statements of Work (SOW). Services will commence as directed by the City.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Raleigh and surrounding areas as required by specific projects.
Bidder Requirements
Firms must be properly licensed/certified to perform specified work in North Carolina. They are required to provide proof of insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability ($1 million each occurrence), Automobile Liability ($1 million), and Worker’s Compensation Insurance as mandated by state law.
