Main Campus Roof Replacement Phase 1: Vernon White, Fulford, and Whitley Buildings

Background
Pitt Community College is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Pitt CC Main Campus Roof Replacement Project. This multi-phase initiative aims to replace various roofs across the campus, with the first phase focusing on the Vernon White, Fulford, and Whitley buildings. The selected firm may be utilized for future phases as funding becomes available. The project addresses critical roof conditions that have led to leaks and deterioration in these buildings.

Work Details
The scope of work includes design, bid, and construction inspection services related to the roof replacements for the Vernon White, Fulford, and Whitley buildings. Specific tasks include:
1) Design services for roof replacement;
2) Coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and State Construction Office (SCO) for compliance;
3) Construction inspection services;
4) Preference for project staff to have Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) credentials.

The existing roofs are in poor condition, with the following details:
- Vernon White Building: 43,000 sq ft EPDM and 2,900 sq ft slate roof requiring replacement due to leaks.
- Fulford Building: 30,000 sq ft slate roof needing replacement with shingles due to failure.
- Whitley Building: 22,000 sq ft slate roof also requiring replacement with shingles due to failure.

Period of Performance
The projected timeline for design and construction completion is by Winter 2026-27.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Pitt Community College located in Winterville, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Proposing firms must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in the State of North Carolina. Additionally, firms must submit four copies of their proposal along with a digital version in PDF format. No facsimile or email responses will be accepted. The proposal must include an introductory letter detailing the firm's qualifications and experience relevant to similar projects.
