The Project consists generally of the following major items: The Lake Wheeler Road Improvement Project will convert the existing corridor to a Complete Street, which will accommodate all modes of transportation and provide access to local attractions, such as to Dorothea Dix Park and the State Farmer's Market. These improvements will include, but not limited to, grading, pavement, roundabouts, sidewalks and shared use paths, curb and gutter, signing, pavement markings, signals, water, and sewer.
Background
The Lake Wheeler Road Improvement Project is initiated by the City of Raleigh, North Carolina, through its Engineering Services – Roadway Design and Construction Department.

The project aims to convert the existing corridor into a Complete Street that accommodates all modes of transportation and enhances access to local attractions such as Dorothea Dix Park and the State Farmer’s Market.

Work Details
The project includes major improvements such as grading, pavement, roundabouts, sidewalks, shared use paths, curb and gutter installation, signing, pavement markings, traffic signals, and enhancements to water and sewer systems.
