Kitchen Equipment Installation and Repair Services for School Facilities

Background
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 160,000 students across 199 schools. The agency is seeking competitive bids from qualified vendors to provide Kitchen and Refrigeration Equipment Installation and Repair services at facilities owned or leased by WCPSS. The goal of this contract is to ensure that kitchen and refrigeration equipment is properly installed and maintained to support the district's mission of providing quality education.

Work Details
The contractor will provide installation and repair services for commercial-grade kitchen and refrigeration equipment, including but not limited to freezers, coolers, refrigeration systems, ovens, and other cooking equipment. The contractor must have appropriate licenses and certifications, adequate staff to handle multiple calls simultaneously, and must respond to emergency requests within 2 hours. The estimated total labor hours for installation and repair is 1,250 hours. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for the proper disposal of used refrigerants and oils in compliance with EPA regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and will continue through July 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various WCPSS facilities located throughout Wake County, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must not be listed on either the State of North Carolina or Federal Government debarred vendor registries. They are required to submit qualifications including years in business, office locations, number of full-time staff available for service provision, relevant experience, and a cost/price proposal with detailed pricing breakdowns per line item for labor rates (technician and helper), materials overhead & profit margins. Vendors must also comply with E-Verify laws regarding employment eligibility.
