Janitorial Services RFP for Union County Facilities

Background
Union County, North Carolina, through its Facilities & Fleet Management Department, is soliciting proposals from experienced and qualified companies to provide janitorial services. The County aims to secure a timely, consistent, and cost-effective contract to ensure clean and safe facilities for employees and customers.

The Facilities Management Division is responsible for maintaining all County facilities.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supplies, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to deliver janitorial and day porter services across various designated spaces including:
- Halls
- Restrooms
- Offices
- Work areas
- Entrance ways (exterior and interior)
- Lobbies
- Storage areas
- Elevators
- Stairways
- Walkways

Specific tasks include:
- Cleaning restrooms thoroughly
- Dusting surfaces
- Mopping floors
- Deep carpet cleaning
- Emptying trash receptacles
- Maintaining recycling containers
- Ensuring that all cleaning products used are 'Green Seal' approved
- Conducting quality assurance inspections weekly
- Providing a staffing plan that includes coverage for absences
- Submitting a transition plan for management of the buildings under the new contract.

The contractor must also adhere to federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to continue for an initial term of one year with options for renewal based on performance evaluations.

Place of Performance
Janitorial services will be performed at various Union County facilities located in Monroe, North Carolina.
