Janitorial Services Contract Opportunity at NCCU

Background
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is seeking to contract with a qualified vendor to provide janitorial services for its Student Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and cost-effective cleaning services that meet the university's standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive janitorial services including but not limited to:

- **Entrances, Reception Area, and Corridors:** Daily collection of trash, cleaning of lobby glass, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and mopping floors. Weekly tasks include washing floor mats and dusting light fixtures. Monthly tasks involve cleaning baseboards and vertical surfaces.

- **Restrooms:** Daily cleaning of toilets, basins, urinals, and floors; refilling dispensers; and collecting trash. Showers will be cleaned as needed.

- **General Office and Conference Rooms:** Daily collection of trash, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and mopping floors. Weekly tasks include damp wiping trash cans and high dusting areas.

- **Lunchroom:** Daily removal of trash and cleaning tables and chairs. Weekly cleaning of refrigerator exteriors.

- **Logbook Maintenance:** Daily review by the cleaning supervisor to ensure all instructions are followed.

- **Damage Reporting:** Any damage or maintenance needs must be recorded in a logbook.

- **Carpet Cleaning:** Spot cleaning daily with major carpet cleaning twice a year.

- **Outdoor Areas:** Daily wiping down outdoor furniture with weekly major cleanings.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is three (3) years starting from the effective date of the contract execution. The vendor is expected to begin work within ten (10) business days after the effective date.

The services will be performed at North Carolina Central University located in Durham, NC.
