Description

The Henderson County Public Schools intends to contract for CLASSROOM HVAC at FLAT ROCK MIDDLE SCHOOL for HENDERSON COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. Proposals will be received until 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Henderson County Public Schools Office, Purchasing Department, located at 414 Fourth Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC 28739. A Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Flat Rock Middle School. Flat Rock Middle School is located at 191 Preston Lane, East Flat Rock, NC 28726. This will be a public Bid opening. Proposals may be delivered or mailed. Background
The Henderson County Public Schools is seeking to contract for the installation of classroom HVAC systems at Flat Rock Middle School. The goal of this project is to enhance the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning capabilities within the school to ensure a comfortable learning environment for students.

Work Details
The project involves the installation of eight new rooftop HVAC units on the existing roof. Six units will serve the F Wing classrooms, and two units will serve the corridors. Additionally, a new electrical panel will be installed in an existing storage room, connected to an existing panel in an adjacent building. The new HVAC units will be integrated with the school's newly upgraded building automation system. Demolition of the existing multi-zone air handler and ductwork is included as add alternates in the mechanical plans. All work must comply with specifications regarding demolition, structural reinforcing, and electrical work.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed by June 26, 2025.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide documentation including bonds and MBE documentation in a separate envelope. Public Liability and Workman’s Compensation Insurance are required as stipulated in the specifications. Only contractors who attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 17, 2025, are eligible to bid on this project.
