HVAC Chiller Installation and Repair Services for School Facilities

Background
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 160,000 students across 199 schools.

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to seek competitive bids from qualified vendors for HVAC Chiller Installation and Repair services at WCPSS facilities, which include all real property and buildings owned or leased by WCPSS.

Work Details
The contractor will provide HVAC Chiller Installation and Repair services, which include installation, maintenance, and repair of chillers from all manufacturers at designated WCPSS sites.

The contractor must have appropriate licenses and/or certifications, adequate staff to respond to multiple calls simultaneously, and be available 24/7 for emergency requests within 2 hours. The estimated total labor hours for installation and repair is approximately 3,500 hours.

They must be knowledgeable in mechanical/electrical schematics and troubleshooting related issues. The contractor is responsible for adhering to Lockout/Tagout procedures during work on these systems and obtaining any necessary permits.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and will continue through July 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations of the Wake County Public School System facilities in Wake County, North Carolina.
