Historic Bath Bulkhead Repair and Replacement Project

Background
The NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is issuing a solicitation for the Historic Bath Bulkhead Repair and Replacement Project located in Bath, Beaufort County, North Carolina.

The project aims to rehabilitate the bulkhead fronting state-owned properties along Bonner’s Point, ensuring the preservation of historical sites and infrastructure.

Work Details
The Base Bid Work includes:
- Furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment for partial demolition and replacement of approximately 890 linear feet of timber bulkhead.
- Installation of vinyl sheet piles, timber framing, ground anchors, granular backfill, seeding, and mulching.

Alternate Bid Work includes:
- Add Alternate #1: Removal and replacement of approximately 90 linear feet of timber bulkhead adjacent to the Bath Historic Foundation pier.
- Add Alternate #2: Partial removal and replacement of approximately 200 linear feet of bulkhead along with the replacement and extension of drainage pipe west of King Street's right-of-way.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be performed following the bid opening on September 5th, 2024. Specific timelines will be determined upon contract award.

The work will be performed at Bonner’s Point in Bath, Beaufort County, North Carolina.
