Hardwood Floor Refinishing Services for School Facilities

Background
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 161,000 students across 203 schools. The district is seeking to secure a contract for Hardwood Floor Refinishing services at various facilities owned or leased by WCPSS. The goal of this contract is to maintain and enhance the quality of hardwood floors within the district's facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Hardwood Floor Refinishing services, which include:

- Sanding all wood floors using a gym floor sanding setup with specific grit sandpapers.
- Applying Bona Sports Seal as a sealer.
- Marking game lines and school emblems with precision taping machines.
- Applying Bona All Court finish.

The contractor must also repaint existing striping, lettering, and logos on hardwood floors, with any changes requiring prior approval. Additionally, contractors are responsible for providing power via a generator and utilizing dust containment systems or covering bleachers and curtains during work. The contractor must have a minimum of five years of experience in gym floor refinishing and be a member of the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA).

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and continue through July 31, 2027, with an option for WCPSS to extend the contract for two additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various WCPSS facilities located throughout Wake County, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must not be debarred from doing business with Wake County or the federal government. They must submit qualifications including years in business, office locations, number of full-time staff providing services, relevant experience, cost/price proposals, Attachments A&C, and an MFMA certificate. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the NC Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP) by June 4, 2026.
