Background
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specifically for its Department of Facilities Services. Work Details
The contractor shall provide full maintenance services including:
1. Regular inspections, examinations, lubrication, testing, cleaning, adjustment, and both major and minor repairs of all vertical transportation equipment.
2. Timely provision of parts to avoid delays in service with a 48-hour delivery window for most parts and a 24-hour window if only one elevator is operational.
3. Maintenance tasks must adhere to the manufacturer's recommendations and industry best practices.
4. Monthly service requirements include detailed inspections of motors, machines, generators, controllers, door operations, safety devices, hydraulic systems, and more.
5. Emergency callback service available during business hours and after hours at no additional cost.
6. Maintenance of appearance and surfaces of equipment to ensure a presentable condition.
7. Compliance with ANSI A17.1 standards for safety testing and inspections.
Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is five (5) years starting from October 1, 2025. The University has the option to renew the contract for up to five (5) additional one (1) year terms.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.
Bidder Requirements
Vendors must be registered as a North Carolina vendor in good standing. They are required to conduct comprehensive criminal background checks on all employees who will perform services under this contract and provide copies to the Contract Administrator.
