Forsyth County DSS First Floor Renovations

Background
The Forsyth County Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking bids for the renovation and upfit of interiors on the first floor of their building located at 741 Highland Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC. This project aims to refresh the interior spaces to better serve the community and enhance the functionality of the DSS facilities.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. An interior refresh involving painting of walls;
2. Removal of existing floor finishes and replacement with new finishes;
3. Removal of ceiling tiles and grid system, followed by installation of a new ceiling system;
4. Electrical work that includes removal and replacement of existing ceiling-mounted lay-in lighting fixtures in the lobby, interior offices, and existing shell space.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from August 21, 2025, following the bid opening, with specific timelines to be determined based on project requirements.

Place of Performance
The renovations will take place at the Forsyth County Department of Social Services Building located at 741 Highland Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. A 5% Bid Bond is required at the time of bid submission, along with a requirement for a 100% Performance & Payment Bond from the awarded contractor. Additionally, there are M/WBE subcontracting goals set at 10% cumulatively for MBE and WBE participation.
