Description

Background
The City of Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina, is seeking proposals for maintenance, inspection, and repair services for its fleet of scissor lifts and forklifts. This equipment is essential for various operations across the city's facilities and must pass annual inspections. The city emphasizes environmental sustainability and community engagement in its operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:
- Preventive Maintenance: Scheduled inspections and servicing of forklifts and scissor lifts including lubrication, replacement of filters and fluids, battery checks, hydraulic system maintenance, tire inspections, lift mechanism checks, and engine cleaning.

- Inspection Services: Routine safety inspections to comply with OSHA and ANSI regulations, record-keeping of inspection results, compliance checks with safety standards, load testing where required, and battery checks for electric lifts. An inspection fee schedule must be provided in advance.

- Repairs and Replacements: Identification of damaged parts with immediate repair or replacement; availability of a repair team for emergencies; coordination of parts procurement; provision of all necessary parts, labor, and tools by the contractor at city facilities. Estimates for larger jobs must be provided prior to work initiation.

- Certification & Documentation: Providing certification for all inspections and repairs performed along with detailed records including service dates, types of services performed, parts replaced, safety compliance results, and inspection findings. A maintenance report must be submitted after each scheduled service.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of five (5) years from the date of award with an option to extend for up to 180 days in increments not exceeding 90 days.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various City facilities where the equipment is located within Raleigh.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must demonstrate experience in similar projects with at least three references from past clients (preferably government agencies). They must also provide proof of proper licensing/certification to perform the specified work in North Carolina. Additionally, proposers are encouraged to include participation from minority or women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) as part of their proposal.
