Background
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 161,000 students across 203 schools. The district aims to secure a contract for Fire Sprinkler System Installation and Repair at various facilities owned, leased, or possessed by WCPSS. This initiative is part of their commitment to maintaining safety standards across their properties.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Fire Sprinkler System Installation and Repair services, which include maintenance on sprinkler, pre-action, and standpipe systems in compliance with NFPA standards (NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 25, NFPA 72). The contractor must have appropriate licenses and certifications and ensure operational integrity of the systems. Services include:
- Responding to emergency requests within two hours.
- Adhering to scheduling requirements set by WCPSS supervisors.
- Submitting deficiency repairs to the Wake County Fire Marshal's Office Compliance Engine.

The estimated labor hours for installation and repair are around 100 hours, with specific labor rates to be proposed by the contractor.

Period of Performance
The contract will begin on July 1, 2026, and end on July 31, 2027. There is an option for a one-year extension based on program continuation and funding availability.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various WCPSS facilities throughout Wake County, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must not be debarred from doing business with Wake County or the federal government. They must submit qualifications including years in business, office locations, number of full-time staff providing services to WCPSS, relevant experience, and a cost/price proposal. Additionally, bidders must comply with E-Verify laws regarding employment eligibility.
