Background
The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) Athletics is seeking an official healthcare provider exclusive partner to be the primary service provider for needs associated with their intercollegiate sports and athletic training programs.
The goal of this contract is to deliver medical care and services that provide the best value to the University.
Work Details
The selected healthcare provider will be responsible for:
- Designating a primary care physician to oversee athletic training staff operations.
- Providing on-site staffing for all home football, men’s/women’s basketball games, and special events.
- Conducting a minimum of one orthopedic clinic per week on campus.
- Assisting in EMS scheduling for home games and events.
- Managing annual physicals for student-athletes on approximately eight predetermined dates.
- Prioritizing diagnostics and surgeries for current student-athletes, including MRI, CT scans, and X-rays with specific timelines for scheduling and results.
- Providing nutrition/dietician access on a case-by-case basis.
- Ensuring availability of orthopedic and general medical providers at least twice a week in Pembroke, NC.
- Offering optional healthcare services such as billable rehab services and nutritionist support.
Marketing elements include web links, scoreboard panels, season tickets, sponsorship opportunities, and advertising during broadcasts.
Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of three years starting from June 1, 2025, with options for up to five additional one-year renewals.

The services will be performed primarily at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke's athletic facilities located in Pembroke, North Carolina.
