Eastern NC School for the Deaf Campus Repairs and Renovation Project

Background
The Eastern NC School for the Deaf is seeking proposals for a construction project aimed at repairing and renovating its campus. The goal of this contract is to enhance the facilities and infrastructure of the school, ensuring a safe and functional environment for its students and staff.

Work Details
The project includes the following specific tasks:

1. Vestal Hall: grading, paving, stormwater improvements; fencing replacement; structural and masonry repairs; roofing replacement with roof access ladders; maintenance shop renovation.

2. Williamson Gym: HVAC system installation, steam radiator demolition; masonry repairs; site access driveway improvements; bleacher replacement.

3. Woodard Hall: egress stair replacement involving demolition of existing stairs and installation of new egress stairs including concrete foundations, landing, sidewalks, flashings, connections to the existing Second Floor landing, emergency lighting, and other work as indicated in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be performed from the bid opening date until completion. A specific deadline for bids is set for May 22, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at the Eastern NC School for the Deaf located at 1311 US Highway 301 N, Wilson, NC 27893.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a proper license as required under state laws governing their respective trades. General contractors must have a General Unlimited license classification as per North Carolina General Statutes. A cash deposit or certified check equal to at least five percent (5%) of the proposal is required with each bid submission. Additionally, bidders must include forms identifying minority business participation and either Affidavit A or B as applicable.
